Inspiration
Inspired by the philosophy of Nietzsche and the organic emotional world of Björk, Shatter and Bloom explores the cycle of destruction and rebirth — how beauty emerges through breaking. It’s a meditation on impermanence, chaos, and the quiet persistence of life itself.
What it does
Shatter and Bloom is a multimedia piece — combining AI-generated visuals, sound design, and poetry. It invites viewers into a world where destruction becomes creation, and chaos transforms into art.
How we built it
The project was built using advanced text-to-video AI for visual generation and original sound design created by Hideyuki Ashizawa. Each frame and sound was shaped to reflect the fragile tension between collapse and rebirth.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing beauty and destruction without losing emotional depth was the hardest part. The AI often made the chaos too literal — we had to sculpt subtlety and emotion back into it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an experience that feels alive — fragile, raw, and evolving. It doesn’t just show destruction; it breathes it, then blossoms again.
What we learned
True creation begins at the moment of loss. AI can replicate forms, but it takes human intuition to give them soul.
What's next for Shatter and Bloom
We plan to expand Shatter and Bloom into an immersive audiovisual installation — where sound, movement, and light evolve in real time. The project will continue to explore the fragile dance between destruction, rebirth, and meaning.
