Inspiration

Blahaj! 🦈🦈 We all love animals, especially if they are cute like Blahaj, but other than Human Killing, they also face several threats as Humans deteriorate the environment. Between 1970-2016 approximately 5.73 million tonnes of oil were lost as a result of tanker incidents. As single large incidents can be responsible for a huge share of all the oil spilled in a given year, it is advisable to look at trends or decade averages.So far we have seen 5 oil spills alone in 2019. Luckily I came up with an idea to prevent this.

What it does

Pumps are used typically to extract the oil, but they are useless after certain extent as they cant suck the tin layer of oil that remains floating. Thats exactly what my hack does! It sucks up all the oil spilled and seperates it

How I built it

I used a disk to attract all the sticky oil and devised a flap to collect the oil in a storage capsule from the disk via the flap.

Challenges I ran into

The challenging part was doing it within the time-constraints of my busy life and without access to much of the hardware. I hunted for households real quick, but getting the right ones and building it was quite challenging and several problems arose.To maintain the functionality, I had to find innovative solutions and combat each little problem with a solution to help my marine friends.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Finally being able to build the hack , no matter what-so-ever! And Hope my Marine Friends will now be Happy :)

What we learned

I learned how to tackle any problem in any situation whatsoever, and build a hack with the least equipment available in little time.

What's next for SharkStatus

I plan to Improve the design by 3D-Printing it and using Arduino, sensors and motors to perform various tasks(as soon as I find some), I can use solar power to go green!
