Inspiration

Wanted to make a fun hack filled with sharks!

What it does

A Plasmo-framework based chrome extension that allows students to create word docs directly from browser instead of switching tabs all the time for saving information from the web. Cohere Ai can be used to summarize the text and get only the important points from the selected text. Also can use extension to replace annoying ads on sites with subtle, calm-looking sharks (P.S. I used it mostly for fun purposes.. :) 🦈) You can also search meanings of words on the webpage with the Wikipedia TLDR library and lastly a Twilio WhatsApp bot which gives you random shark memes anytime you want. You can also get the info of nearest bookstore locations from the bot based on your current coordinates implemented with Geoapify API.

I learnt how to use the plasmo framework for the first time...it was cool!!

What's next for Sharkie

I will definitely add more bot triggers that can do some cool ML stuff to track activity of students and send updates on their WhatsApp, or maybe allowing them to take AR photos with sharks, etc.
