Inspiration

We all have things lying around that we don't use. How about we give those away to those who require them.

What it does

A user can upload a picture and description of the item they have lying around. The person who needs the item can send a request to the user with a comment and if the user finds the comment good enough they can give the item or not.

How we built it

We built it using ReactJS and Flask apis. We used Google Vision API to extract tags. We used Auth0 for authentication.

Challenges we ran into

Integration of the apis with frontend.

How to deploy on heroku and how to do code under pressure.

What's next for SharingIsCaring

To add send message functionality when the request is accepted or rejected. Add more user profile options. Create a system for better authentication.
