Inspiration

We are inspired by websites that we see teachers use where students post questions from the class and thought that would be a great idea for class notes and insights between students.

What it does

Currently our websites handles registering students, logging them in, letting them upload files, and view files from other students.

How we built it

We built the framework in Django using python. We handled the database management with SQLite.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was collaboration and using GitHub to stay organized. We both had to familiarize ourselves with the tools to be as productive as possible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Printing "Hello World" at the start was something we're super proud of because it means that we set everything up correctly and that would allow us to start doing complex things.

What we learned

Matt has never done anything with web development, while Jared has done a couple classes, so it was a lot of learning from class material and online resources. We learned about database management, website frameworks, collaboration with GitHub, and working in a coding team.

What's next for ShareNotes

We really wanted to implement a system of letting the user students be able to join a class to see students notes from that class but unfortunately we did not have time to do that. We want to implement that feature and also allow users to delete, edit, and even drawn on the notes for extra collaboration. The future for ShareNotes is bright!
