Inspiration

Many of our friends and colleagues who went overseas have mentioned the same few topics. These topics all cluster under one banner known as "Lack of information". There are many things one needs to handle when travelling abroad and living in a foreign city or country, causing many Singaporeans to be lost in the process. Our solution seeks to help simplify the process and help them obtain reliable information to prepare for their trip overseas.

For example, applying for a visa to the United States, one will have to collate information from different sources to know the exact process for visa application. They get frustrated by the tedious research process and complicated paperwork.

For uncommon travel destinations, it can be difficult to find relevant information needed for pre-flight and travel preparation.

*Singaporeans want something easy to use and navigate. Something that is a one-stop place to get all the trusted information they need. *

What it does

Our app consolidates crucial information and provide useful guides that Singaporeans can follow when they travel abroad, be it for work, study or leisure, without having to go through dig through the web for information which they would need, so that they can enjoy a fuss-free travel experience.

We hope to collect as many relevant information as possible from reliable sources such as MFA, SingSocs in overseas uni and even YOU, the user.

This app will be curated for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans :)

How we built it

We used Figma, a free cloud-based wireframe-building application, to build a working prototype of our application.

Challenges we ran into

Due to our lack of experience with Figma, we had to take some time to familiarize ourselves with the interface. It took up quite a bit of time and many youtube tutorials to achieve what we wanted with the prototype.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are glad that we were able to learnt Figma and build our working prototype.

What's next for SGOverseas

Provide ways to connect Singaporeans with others that are already living abroad or are intending to travel abroad

A working Android Studio and iOS prototype could be build, if we learn how to code in Java or Swift.
