Inspiration
We were inspired by the UI of Reddit, the features of MeetUp, and the questionnaire responses from friends who have traveled overseas for a sufficiently long period of time.
What it does
Connect overseas Singaporeans who are in the same locale and help ease the transition of Singaporeans to overseas by providing essential links, advice and starter guides.

Challenges we ran into
We faced significant challenges in finding Singaporeans who have been overseas for a long time to better empathise with our target audience, and understand the challenges they face and their needs. Many of the solutions have been implemented after thorough searches and interviews of our friends.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team felt that we made great progress within such short period of time - from understanding the user journey, and the pain points of the users, conducting interviews and surveys, ideating, and also learning Figma, which is a tool that we are unfamiliar with.
What we learned
As students who have limited exposure to life overseas, we have learned to better empathize with the difficulties faced by Singaporeans travelling abroad, acknowledging the variations in challenges when going to different countries, and becoming more aware of the potential difficulties and limitations when a Singaporean is in a foreign land. We have also learned how to more effectively ideate, and conduct design thinking.
What's next for SGGlobal
We could try to look for more overseas Singaporeans to interview to better understand their needs and challenges as well as progress into an actual coded prototype over a wireframe.
