Inspiration

Being an SFU student, we realize that it is so difficult for people to connect with each other! Despite the countless online communities that SFU has fostered, they all lack the actual bridge that connects all of us together, and that is "visibility".

What it does

Our website is, on the surface, a social media platform, but what makes it stand out is all the SFU aspects that most online platforms do not provide. Instagram and Facebook can get distracting with all the non-SFU contents that they contain. Reddit is a good place for you to find general information about the university, but everyone stays annonymous and no real connection can be felt. Which is why our website contains all things SFU-related, ranging from dormitory stories to the countless club events that go unseen in the digital world.

How we built it

This is still a concept that we find is not only interesting but also can be something that provide the bridge between students that they have all longed for. We used Figma to create our draft and early concepts of the website.

Challenges we ran into

Time was a big challenge and we feel that if we had more, the project would be more plausible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The whole concept in general was our pride and joy; being able to create something that caters towards students, specifically the SFU community is something we have been longing for.

What we learned

Lots of things. New platforms, coding languages and whatnot!

What's next for SFU Community

Everything!
