Inspiration

Civic hackers don't always know what projects would be most impactful, or whether govt/other end users would adopt something if they built it. And government and civic orgs dont always know how best to work with civic hackers and what the civic tech opportunities even are. We want to bridge that gap and surface the most impactful and pressing civic tech ideas, and connect motivated engineers to those projects -- a one stop shop for civic tech in SF.

What it does

A platform for government, community, and technologists to connect and build towards a better SF. SF OS is a community-driven library of civic technology ideas, active projects, and actionable policies, ranging from big-picture visions to projects getting built right now.
