Inspiration

Most solopreneurs can build. The harder part is deciding what deserves attention, noticing blind spots, and following through without a cofounder or team around them.

Seven Chairs began with a simple question: what if working alone did not have to mean thinking alone?

What it does

Seven Chairs puts a boardroom of seven AI business partners around your company.

Instead of receiving one generic AI answer, founders can examine a decision from several distinct perspectives. The goal is not to generate more advice. It is to help the founder see what they may be missing, make a deliberate decision, and move forward.

The relationship continues after the conversation. Seven Chairs can surface reminders when a commitment is due, provide a daily check-in in Chat, and deliver a Monday memo that reconnects the founder with what matters now.

Why seven chairs

A single AI answer can sound confident while ignoring the tensions inside a real business decision.

Seven perspectives make disagreement useful. They help expose assumptions, competing priorities, risks, and opportunities before the founder commits to a direction.

How it was designed

Seven Chairs is built around the reality of solo work: limited attention, too many responsibilities, and no appetite for another complicated dashboard.

The experience uses a scrollable boardroom instead of a conventional chatbot interface. The advisors are built around the user’s company, so the product can feel like an ongoing working relationship rather than a brand-new prompt every time.

Challenges

The biggest design challenge was preventing seven advisors from becoming seven times the noise.

The experience had to preserve distinct perspectives while keeping the discussion coherent, calm, and actionable. It also had to connect reflection with follow-through, so useful conversations would not simply disappear into chat history.

Another challenge was bringing the experience to mobile while preserving the atmosphere and clarity of the original boardroom.

What I learned

Solopreneurs do not mainly need more ideas. They need useful resistance, clearer priorities, and continuity between a decision and what happens afterward.

The best AI partner is not the one that produces the longest answer. It is the one that helps you notice what you missed and still move.
