About the Project

Inspiration

Many Indian citizens are unaware of the government schemes and public services available to them. Even when information is available online, understanding eligibility criteria, required documents, benefits, and application procedures can be difficult due to language barriers and complex information.

What We Built

We developed SevaSaathi AI, an AI-powered multilingual voice assistant that helps citizens access information about Indian government schemes through natural voice conversations. Users can interact in Kannada, Hindi, or English and ask questions in their preferred language.

How We Built It

We used the Vaani AI platform to create a conversational voice agent. The system combines speech recognition, an AI language model, text-to-speech, and a knowledge base to understand user queries and provide helpful responses. We designed it to answer questions about scheme benefits, eligibility requirements, necessary documents, and application procedures.

Challenges We Faced

Some of the main challenges included configuring multilingual voice interactions, organizing reliable government scheme information, designing appropriate response guidelines, and testing the agent to improve the conversation experience.

Impact

SevaSaathi AI aims to make government scheme information more accessible, understandable, and convenient for citizens, especially those who face language or digital literacy barriers.
