Inspiration

Many NGOs and community organizations collect valuable information through surveys, field reports, and manual records, but the data is often scattered and difficult to manage. Because of this, urgent community needs are not identified quickly, and volunteers are not efficiently connected to the right tasks. We wanted to build a platform that uses AI and cloud technology to simplify community support management, improve volunteer coordination, and help organizations respond faster during emergencies and social welfare activities.

What it does

SevaLink AI is an AI-powered community support and volunteer management platform. It allows community members to report issues such as food shortages, medical emergencies, educational support, and disaster relief needs. The platform analyzes reports using Gemini AI, identifies urgency levels, and helps NGOs prioritize critical cases.

Using Google Maps API, the system identifies nearby volunteers and enables live location tracking for faster response. Firebase powers authentication, real-time database management, hosting, and notifications, while Stitch AI automates workflows such as task assignment, volunteer coordination, and status updates. The platform also provides dashboards for NGOs, volunteers, and communities with real-time analytics and progress tracking.

How we built it

We built SevaLink AI using modern web technologies and Google services.

Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript Backend & Hosting: Firebase Database: Firestore Authentication: Firebase Authentication AI Integration: Gemini AI API Workflow Automation: Stitch AI Maps & Tracking: Google Maps API

The platform was deployed using Firebase Hosting to create a scalable cloud-based solution with real-time synchronization.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was integrating multiple services into a smooth workflow. Connecting Gemini AI with real-time Firebase data and location-based volunteer matching required careful backend logic and optimization. We also faced challenges while managing real-time updates, notification systems, and ensuring smooth coordination between NGOs and volunteers. Another challenge was designing a simple and user-friendly interface that could be easily used by different types of users.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a working cloud-deployed prototype that combines AI analysis, real-time mapping, and workflow automation into a single platform. We are proud of building an intelligent volunteer matching system, integrating Gemini AI for report analysis, and creating live dashboards for NGOs and volunteers. We also achieved smooth Firebase integration for authentication, hosting, and database management.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to integrate AI services with cloud infrastructure and real-time databases. We improved our skills in Firebase, API integration, workflow automation, and frontend development. We also gained experience in designing scalable systems, managing real-time communication, and building technology solutions focused on social impact.

What's next for SevaLink AI

In the future, we plan to expand SevaLink AI into a full mobile application with multilingual support and offline reporting capabilities. We also aim to add predictive AI features for identifying high-risk community areas before emergencies occur. Additional future improvements include voice-based AI assistance, integration with government welfare systems, advanced analytics dashboards, and support for disaster management operations on a larger scale.
