🌟 Inspiration – The Moment That Started Everything
In every corner of the world, from megacities to remote villages, mobile phones are lifelines.
They connect families, enable businesses, power education, and hold our most personal memories.
But what happens when that phone breaks?
For billions, the answer is: frustration.
🛠️ Service centers are far.
💰 Repairs are expensive.
📖 Manuals are confusing.
💬 And often, support is not in your language.
I saw this problem firsthand — my family, my neighbors, even myself — left helpless over simple technical issues. That's when I knew:
“What if there was an assistant that spoke your language, saw your problem, and showed you how to fix it?”
That vision became SETA — the Smart Electronics Troubleshooting Assistant.
An AI-powered companion that gives people not just solutions, but confidence.
🚀 What It Does – Meet SETA
SETA is a voice-enabled, image-aware, multilingual AI assistant that helps users troubleshoot electronic problems — especially smartphones — step by step, visually, and in plain language.
Imagine this:
- A grandmother speaks in Hindi: “My phone won’t charge.” SETA listens and explains the fix in her voice.
- A student uploads a picture of a broken screen. SETA analyzes it and shows a video repair tutorial.
- A technician in a small town gets the exact issue explained via LLM + image + speech.
SETA combines the power of LLMs, vision AI, and human-like interaction to turn anyone into a self-repair expert.
🔧 How I Built It – teamwork, Pixel by Pixel
I designed and developed SETA entirely solo, building every feature from scratch:
- 💻 Frontend: React + TailwindCSS for a fast, modern UI
- ⚙️ Backend: FastAPI (Python) for scalable performance
- 🧠 LLM API: OpenRouter (Qwen2.5, GPT-4, Claude)
- 🎙️ Voice Input: Whisper API (understands diverse accents & languages)
- 🔊 Voice Output: Coqui TTS (natural speech replies)
- 📷 Image/Video Analysis: Roboflow API for real-world fault detection
- 🗃️ Database: A handcrafted knowledge base of 350+ real-world mobile problems
- 🎥 Explainer Video Matching: Auto-attached YouTube tutorials with 90%+ accuracy
- 🗨️ Multilingual UI: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, English (with expansion plan)
Every part was carefully integrated to make the experience not just smart, but human.
⚔️ Challenges I Faced
- Matching over 350 real-world phone issues with working YouTube tutorials
- Designing a clean UI for users of all tech levels
- Balancing fast performance while connecting to multiple AI APIs
- Building a product that feels simple but solves deep problems
- Doing it all **teamwork—code, UI, database, voice, vision, and polish
📚 What I Learned
- How to create true multimodal AI that listens, speaks, and sees
- That tech isn’t complete unless it’s inclusive and accessible
- The power of merging LLMs with real-world devices and needs
- That you don’t need a big team to build a big solution — you need vision, passion, and purpose
🌈 What’s Next for SETA
- 📷 AR overlays for camera-based live troubleshooting
- 📦 Offline repair kits using SETA's AI models for rural centers
- 📊 Personal repair analytics & tracking for each user/device
- 🔌 Launch SETA as an API for OEMs, service apps & government initiatives
- 🌐 Expand language support to all major Indian and global languages
💥 Why SETA Matters – A Global Impact
SETA is not just an AI tool. It’s a mission.
- It helps a grandmother repair her phone without leaving her home.
