Inspiration ❗💡

I always wanted to help the domestic and regionals workers across my town. Companies like uberclap, etc. acts like a middle between them to take their exposure. So I made this Web App to remove those middle man and help the domestic workers.

What it does ❓

Bridging the gap of daily utility workers who face difficulty in finding jobs by helping them in improving their work opportunities. A web platform for unskilled laborers to avail themselves of jobs much easier compared to the traditional means. Considering those, we created a platform where we can hire daily utility workers. Assuming that the internet would be an issue for the minor community, we minimize the usage of the internet. We have used SMS APIs and USSD codes for Accepting and Rejecting the requests for the helper's convenience.

How we built it 🔧🔨🧰

I have used HTML, tailwind CSS and reaction for the frontend part of my project.

For the database I have used MongoDB

And for messaging the customers I have used Twilio

Challenges we ran into 🏃‍♂️❌

There were a lot of challenges we ran into, this is our first hackathon. Implementing typescript was challenging as this was our first time. Trying to minimize the use of the internet for the helper end, we decided to go with using the African Talking API and Twilio API for SMS and USSD Validation for accepting and rejecting the service requests. Tuning the settings of such APIs was a tedious task as we had to authenticate and validate between these APIs. It was extremely pleasing when we resolved it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🏆

  1. I have proud of my self that I am able to complete my full stack project within 2 days

  2. I have learned how to use Twilio for the first time

  3. Furthermore, I am proud of myself that I have use the new release Tailwind CSS for this project

What we learned 🧠

It's my first full stack project, I have learned multiple technologies.

  1. I have learned how to use MongoDB

  2. I have learned how to use Twilio for messaging

  3. Furthermore, I learned how to use USSD API

  4. I have learned how to use Tailwind CSS in frontend

What's next for Servicio ⏭

I am looking forward to hosting my website and start a trail for people.
