Inspiration

We were inspired by the daily problems people face while finding trusted home service professionals like electricians, plumbers, cleaners, and repair workers. Most local services are difficult to book quickly and safely. Our goal was to create a smart digital platform that connects users with verified service providers in a simple and modern way.

What it does

ServiceHub is an online service marketplace platform that helps users book home services easily. Users can search for nearby professionals, compare ratings, book appointments, track services, and make online payments. Service providers can manage bookings, update availability, and communicate with customers through the platform.

How we built it

We built the frontend using React.js and Tailwind CSS to create a modern responsive UI. The backend was developed using Node.js and Express.js, while MongoDB was used for storing user and booking data. Firebase authentication was used for secure login and registration. We also integrated real-time notifications, booking management, and payment features to improve user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the major challenges was designing a smooth booking system with real-time updates. Managing authentication for different user roles such as customers, providers, and admins was also challenging. We additionally faced difficulties in integrating maps, live tracking, and responsive UI components across devices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a professional service marketplace platform with modern UI/UX and real-time functionality. We are proud of implementing features like smart booking, provider dashboards, secure authentication, and responsive design. The project demonstrates how technology can simplify everyday home service needs.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned full-stack web development, API integration, authentication systems, database management, and responsive UI design. We also improved our teamwork, problem-solving, and project planning skills while building a real-world application.
