Inspiration

Our inspiration is connecting with our basic human needs for a space to reflect. Every day we balance our many different roles in life, whether that be a potential student, a teacher, an employee, or a parent, everyone needs space to sit down and reflect quietly on themselves. This very simplistic web application gives an organized way to list your thoughts and reflect on them later.

What it does

This web application is a mood tracker. Every day, the user can come in when he or she has time and just answer a few questions about how they are feeling. It will let you also put in a slight memory of what just happened and revisit it later. Whether you are feeling stressed out and need somewhere to rant to, or just accomplished a big task and want somewhere to remember it, Serenity can give you the freedom to do so. Built into the calendar is also a tracker for all of your previous entries. More stressful and tense entries are colored red while a good happy memory is colored green. In the diary tab, you can revisit all of your previous note entries.

How we built it

This web application was built entirely on Bubble, a web application development tool that lets users create a fully functional site with minimal front-end experience. All of the logic behind the site was built by us with 0 assistance from AI.

Challenges we ran into

This is our first time using Bubble so it was a learning curve. Getting a functional login page as well as figuring out how to store all the information was not easy. It took a lot of YouTube tutorials!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are happy to have a fully functional demo. The login page is fully functional and you can create your account and test out the application! Feel free to log your mood right now and keep a personal check on your mental health.

What we learned

We learned that creating an app isn't always about how complex or fancy the site is, having a simplistic application that can accomplish a single goal is equally as valuable. Working as a team was a difficult but rewarding experience and when we listen to everyone's input it results in good things.

What's next for Serenity

We plan to update the application with more features if the reception for its initial concept is positive.
