Inspiration
Inspired by my first created world Serenity Island, I wanted to create an island that had serenity plus a touch of adventure, and immersion, a floating adventure — part visual escape, part thrill. Inspired by the feeling of walking through the sky with nothing but calm all around you, this world combines my love for peaceful spaces and awe inspiring quiet moments, sprinkled in with just enough challenge to keep people exploring.
What it does
Visiting Serenity Treetop – Skytop Glass Walk Adventure starts high above the trees, where you enter a peaceful treetop park and begin your walk on a glass-bottom trail suspended in the sky. Right away, you're surrounded by amazing views of the island below, and around and above you. You see the hot air balloons gliding by, and get to take a ride into the sky on a hot air balloon. Then as you move along the transparent parkour tiles, the path becomes more intriguing, introducing safe jumping spots, gentle challenges, and quiet areas to pause and take in the view. Every step invites a little more curiosity and courage.
The SkyTop Hangout is the perfect place to relax, catch your breath, or enjoy panoramic, immersive views from above the treetops. Whether you're here to chill solo or meet up with friends, it’s a space made to slow down and just enjoy the moment.
And if you're in the mood for something extra, don't miss the cozy Hot Springs tucked away in a quiet corner, or slide your way into a lower landing via the playful Bamboo Shoot Slide. For a more laid-back moment, stop by the Treetop Café — a floating spot to unwind, reflect, or chat with other visitors over a scenic view.
As you keep exploring, you’ll find hidden turns, layered glass platforms, and paths that shift with the light. It’s a calm, open-air experience that blends peaceful scenery with light adventure — the kind of place visitors come back to just to walk again.
How we built it
This world was built entirely using Meta Horizon Worlds Desktop, with every element placed to enhance the feeling of floating through the sky on a treetop adventure. Glass tiles, soft lighting, and vertical spacing were used to heighten immersion and give players freedom to move or pause. Every detail was aimed at making visitors feel like they’d been transported
Challenges we ran into
Designing with glass came with its own unique challenges, especially when it came to player depth perception. We had to adjust the spacing and layering of platforms multiple times to make sure the parkour felt intuitive, not disorienting. Another challenge was making sure players felt safe and never stuck. To solve this, I added rebounding features so that falling wouldn’t feel frustrating or scary, and I built stairways to give players an easy way back to the top. It also took time to find the right balance between challenge and calm. I didn’t want it to feel too easy or too intense — the goal was to keep it immersive, fun, and peaceful. Getting that mix just right was key.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to see visitors responding with curiosity and excitement. We’re proud that the world stands out visually. All around, from the sky to down below the treetop, the depth perception is just amazing. So very proud of the hot air balloon feature! Throwing water balloons and balls off the top, and seeing the depth feels very wow! While still delivering a calm and serene experience. Many players return just to walk the glass trail again or hang out in the sky. Creating a space that blends wonder, interaction, and stillness — that’s what makes this one special. A space that everyone can enjoy.
What we learned
We learned how to push visual design without sacrificing vibe or simplicity. Lighting and spacing turned out to be more important than we expected — they shaped how people feel in the world just as much as how they play. Even small changes in the path layout or hangout location had a big impact on the overall experience. Watching how players moved, paused, or interacted gave us insight into how to adjust the space to make it more intuitive and engaging.
What's next for Serenity Treetop – Skytop Glass Walk Adventure
Next up, we’re looking to add more interactive features that add depth to the time spent exploring. We’re also exploring the idea of serenity tokens or hidden milestones that give players more to uncover each time they return. Our goal is to keep the world fresh while keeping the pace slow, steady, and rooted in calm sky exploration. Building a secret underground world is one of our next steps to release. It can be a party space or a relaxing space... or maybe both! You will have to visit to find out..
