Inspiration
We were inspired by the absurdity of pharmaceutical TV commercials—the ones that appear to cost a fortune to produce. These ads tell you a drug might cause "explosive diarrhea" and "death" while showing golden retrievers running through sunset fields. We wanted to see if we could create something better using AI, and challenge the disconnect between what pharma ads say versus what they show.
What it does
AI can visualize the unvisualized. Traditional pharma ads gloss over side effects with beautiful B-roll. We discovered AI tools let us actually show what the side effects list describes: backwards knees, ham sandwich cravings, and terrible cartwheels. The technology allowed us to create surreal, impossible visuals that would require massive budgets and complex VFX in traditional production.
How we built it
We created this spoof Pharma entirely with AI tools: Midjourney - Visual concept generation and stills Nano Banana - AI animation and motion Luma Dream Machine - Scene generation FreePik - Additional assets Final Cut Pro - Final editing and assembly
Accomplishments that we're proud of
No crew. No actors. No location fees. Just prompts, creative direction, and a few hours of work squeezed in between client projects.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was matching the comedic timing to the visuals. AI generation requires iteration—we had to prompt and re-prompt to get the exact absurdity we envisioned. Maintaining visual consistency across different AI tools while keeping the satirical tone sharp required careful creative direction. We also had to ensure the parody landed without crossing into territory that felt mean-spirited rather than clever.
