Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from a documentary video which showed how people are hesitant to talk about things like anxiety, stress, depression etc. and are unaware of all the resources there are that can offer them help and provide them support and so we wanted to make a platform which can be a stepping stone for that.
What it does
This website compiles some well researched resources, websites and NGO's working towards mental health, its cure, and to make it vocal on a global level. The website also carefully cumulates some blogs from all over the internet to calm you down, seek hope and positivity and gain some insights and information from people who are either well informed about it or those who have been there in this situation.
How we built it
We used the concepts of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build the project.
Challenges we ran into
Since, this was our first full fledged web development project, running into numerous errors and rectifying them using sources in internet was quite challenging and the amount of time that went into literature survey about different resources was a lot and was quite exhausting but was all worth it in the end.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The greatest achievement after doing the project and the necessary is that we are well versed about a lot of help that is present online and now not only this website but we, as individuals, can also help if someone would ever come asking for help regarding mental health issues and guide them on where to seek help.
What we learned
We learned to put our knowledge in real world with this experience after spending hours getting to know the theoretical aspects of web development.
What's next for Serene Space
The immediate aim for our website is to keep updating the data and blogs and adding on more and more resources as they get available. In the future we would want some well known doctors and mentors to come to our platform and give some necessary insights to our users and increase the amount of information in our website.
