Inspiration
- Two of us use SEPTA to commute to Temple
- Routes from the app can sometimes be unreliable
What it does
- Uses AI and data from SEPTA to generate a route
- Also has accessibility features
How we built it
- Vibecoding
Challenges we ran into
- Trying to use the Gemini API for our project but it kept hallucinating data so we switched to OpenAI API
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Getting something up in only a day since this is everyone's first time doing a hackathon.
What we learned
- Even though we AI-generated a lot of the code, debugging the code takes so much more time
- Try to make the most of your time and divide the work properly
- Make sure the Github repository is well managed so it doesn't have to be untangled down the line
What's next for SEPTA Guardian
- We're going to add more features such as taking specific addresses instead of stations and a map visual
- Add chatbot features
- And also plan on making the app fully functional
