Inspiration

Reddit moderators spend a significant amount of time reviewing repetitive content, identifying rule violations, handling reports, and managing moderation queues. As communities grow, these repetitive tasks become increasingly difficult to manage efficiently.

We created SentriMod to help moderators reduce manual effort and make faster, more consistent moderation decisions through automation and actionable insights.

What it does

SentriMod is a Reddit moderation productivity platform built with Reddit Devvit.

It helps moderators by:

Detecting duplicate content before it clutters discussions
Identifying rule violations in real time
Organizing moderation workflows through a smart queue
Tracking moderator activity and actions
Providing analytics and community health insights
Estimating moderator time saved through automation

The platform is fully integrated into Reddit through Devvit and operates directly inside moderator workflows.

The dashboard is rendered natively within Reddit and provides moderators with a centralized moderation experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was building a reliable moderation workflow inside the Devvit environment while maintaining strong performance and type safety.

We also had to ensure analytics remained synchronized across automated triggers, moderator actions, and dashboard updates while keeping the experience responsive and intuitive.
