Inspiration

The election in America and head to head fight between Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton for running for the president.

What it does

Sentiment Analysis on Twitter Posts using the Twitter API Collect tweets by using input from a user (Username or #ashTag) Tweets are analysed and evaluated using Sentiment Analysis Machine Learning used for automation of the program Analysis plotted on a graph to visualise public opinion on the matter

How we built it

We have built it by using Twitter API, Python and MySQL database. In python we have used multiple libraries, such as; TextBlob, Matplotlib and PyMySQL.

Challenges we ran into

Twitter API Limitations: 180 Requests/15minutes PyQt4 GUI: Not extremely appealing Limited customisability MatplotLib type errors

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Achieved our main aim which was using sentiment analysis depending on polarity and subjectivity from scraped posts from chosen users/hashtags on twitter.

What we learned

Using the Twitter API, larger team needed.

What's next for SentiTweet

Further development of the project with more intuitive front-end design and analysis.
