Inspiration

We were inspired by the fact that students can be in the same classroom and receive the same lesson, but not all of them can access that lesson in the same way. Students with dyslexia, ADHD, or language barriers may struggle with long texts, complicated language, or information that is difficult to organize.

We wanted to create something that doesn't replace school or teachers, but helps make the learning materials students already receive easier to understand.

What it does

SentinelX is an AI-powered learning accessibility tool that adapts educational content to different student needs.

It can help simplify difficult information, break lessons into smaller steps, translate content, and organize information so it is easier to understand and follow.

The goal is to help students access the same learning content without being held back by the way it is presented.

How we built it

We designed SentinelX with a simple, student-friendly interface focused on accessibility. We created a mobile experience that demonstrates how students can interact with the tool and adapt learning content.

We focused on making the experience clear and easy to navigate instead of adding unnecessary features.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was designing a solution that could support different accessibility needs without making it complicated.

We also had to work within a limited hackathon timeline, so we had to decide which features were most important to demonstrate and focus on those first.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of turning an accessibility problem into a practical AI solution.

We are especially proud of creating a clear mobile experience that shows how SentinelX could help students make learning materials easier to understand. We also learned how to take an idea from a problem statement and turn it into a complete project with a presentation, prototype, and demo.

What we learned

We learned that accessibility is more than simply giving everyone access to the same information. Information also needs to be understandable and usable for different people.

We also learned how important it is to keep an AI product simple and focused on the person who will actually use it.

What's next for SentinelX

Our next step would be to make SentinelX fully functional and test it with real students and educators.

We would also like to improve its personalization so students can choose how they learn best and make the tool adapt more closely to their individual needs.

Our long-term goal is for SentinelX to help make learning more accessible without changing the student's place in the classroom.
