Most safety technology assumes that when something goes wrong, a person will still be able to reach their phone, call someone, or press an emergency button.
But what happens if they can't?
A person living alone could fall, lose consciousness, become injured, or simply be unable to reach their device. Security cameras may record what happened, but recording an emergency is very different from actually responding to one.
SentinelX turns the camera and microphone already available on a computer into an intelligent safety companion. Instead of waiting for the user to ask for help, SentinelX continuously looks for signs that something may be wrong, checks on the person, and can bring a trusted contact into the situation when the user cannot respond.
Our goal was simple:
SentinelX should help manage the critical first moments after something goes wrong.
SentinelX is a desktop-first personal safety system.
While monitoring is enabled, SentinelX uses the computer's camera to observe body movement locally.
If SentinelX detects behavior consistent with a possible fall, it starts a check-in:
"We noticed you may have fallen. Are you okay?”
The user can immediately respond with:
- I'm okay
- I need help
SentinelX communicates through multiple accessibility channels:
- Large, high-contrast visual alerts
