Inspiration
I've always loved the idea of Superhero RPGs, but have never really gotten to play one with a deep level of civilian-super-identity balance. I also have played many AI RPGs, but they never seem to find a good balance between "game" and "roleplay" engine while still maintaining good memory.
What it does
It provides both a Game and Roleplaying engine for players to create, generate, and play in their own superhero RPG/life-management Simulator.
How I built it
I built it with AI Studio using custom design documentation and iterating through that, then following a typical development cycle and iterating over changes. Players manage a complex dual life, balancing the economic realities of a civilian job with the high stakes of being a superhero.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge was finding a good way to properly store and remember the story while also managing the right scaling for difficulty and roleplay scope.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The whole system, really. Particularly getting the memory and gameplay elements to work well and still provide the same quality of roleplay through the engine.
What I learned
More design skills with Gemini.
What's next for Sentinel
There are multiple features still marked as Beta, so further developing those, mainly. Then, creating a platform where player can share their own worlds for others to play in.
