Our Inspiration
Our team get inspired because we wanted to give social media users the freedom to choose what they see in their feed since they should have control over their own social media usage: to filter out the negative and prioritize their interests, and hobbies for better mental health, and what's happening locally to also help the local community and businesses. We also got inspired by Myopolis because from Myopolis, users can pick categories to see in their feed, and we thought that if the application could be integrated into mainstream social media apps like Instagram, then there could be more opportunities for people to benefit from this feature. However, the problem with Myopolis was that it was a whole new social media platform and people don't want to switch over, so it's really hard for new ones to catch on. So we take some of the features that Myopolis develop and add on to it by also filtering by hashtags and based on the sentiment analysis, while Myopolis had specific categories that posts would fall under so it was less flexible.
About Sentinel

How we built it
We use Figma to design an overview of our Web and created a Web based on Figma design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Come up with an idea for everyone to work on and deciding what coding language to use for the idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finish on time, make new friends that never know before and learn more knowledge on working in a teamwork project.
What we learned
We learned how to work as a team and learn new skills throughout the Hackathon.
What's next for Sentinel
Add this web as a feature to social media, so it would become a new standalone Web or App for social media users to have control over their own social media usage to avoid having negative emotions from the posts on social media App.
