What inspired us

Healthcare professionals have frequently been operating under high amounts of stress. With a heavy workload and the knowledge that mistakes can be fatal. The COVID-19 crisis has even increased this pressure significantly and close contact with COVID-19 infected patients' ads the risk of contamination on top of the stress. Psychologists predict an outbreak of burnouts and PTSD amongst healthcare workers in the near future due to the many traumatic life endings that care takers are experiencing.

A fast solution is needed within Hospitals and care homes which can help healthcare professionals activate and enhance their immune system to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection as well as to help release stress. Our proposed solution is the IMUNNOPOD, a non-invasive multi therapy cabinet, equipped with actuators such as heat shock radiators, UV-B lights enhancing vitamin D syntheses, phytoncides atomizer, salt climate and relaxation programs with breathing exercises to release the stress. All these integrated elements have been observed to activate the immune system, and release inflammation as can be found in the articles in our PDF presentation.

The IMMUNMOPOD is built upon the existing SENSIKS framework and is highly scalable due to its digital hardware production methods.

With sufficient funds and support we are able to produce sufficient IMMUNOPODS for the most affected hospitals and care homes within Europe within a short amount of time. After the crisis, our pods remain useful for therapeutic and care purposes such as relief from stress and pain for healthcare workers and patients, and as a research tool in the field of medical and mental health. IMMUNOPODS can also help to keep people physically, and mentally resilient and strong in office spaces and eventually within living spaces paving the way towards future developments such as telepresence and remote health monitoring.

What it does

The Immunopod is a multi-therapy immune system enhancer. It is unique in the combination of therapeutic methods and technologies. Philosophy behind the Immunopod is to work with non-invasive, non chemical triggers to enhance the immune system. Immunopod is built on the SR (Sensory Reality) Pod framework that was initially built for mood creation: relaxation, activation, psychotherapy. With addition of ‘heat shock ‘ radiators, specific light spectrum for Vitamin D synthesis, salt climate and specific fragrances the Immunopod creates the optimal environment for prevention of virus infection and inflammation. All this in a relaxing multi-sensory environment.

How we built it

Create a new fragrance machine that is able to atomize multiple essential oils so they can be programmed into an experience

Build a new app for the steering of this solution along with standard relaxation programs.

Read a zillion of articles and books on viruses, Covid-19 and non invase solutions to fight it

Source the following new hardware elements and fit it in: Salt Dispenser – UVB light – new fragrance dispenser.

We are already in the market with SENSIKS SR Pods, and also delivering to hospitals and care homes for relaxation and therapies. With the new additions it will be, in our minds the Immunopod is a logical future proof solution in the fight against COVID-19 and for a better world with less medication and stress.

What we learned

Before the invention of penicillin, doctors claimed to successfully have used heat, induced fever, salt and light for treatment or cure of all kind of diseases, even cancer.

The opportunity to bring back these ancient and often forgotten, but very powerful therapeutic methods back on the doctor's toolkit and to be able to help healthcare professionals prevent getting infected with COVID-19 as well provide a solution to counter their mental stress with relaxation.

What's next for SENSIKS. IMMUNOPOD

It’s our goal to support scientist and medical professionals in the fight against COVID-19 with placement of IMMUNOPODS, as well as to provide a tool for research on this ancient but forgotten effective therapeutic methods. After the crisis IMMUNOPODS remain useful for enhancing immune systems, stress/pain release, research and therapy for healthcare workers as well as patients. Also office spaces and eventually also households will be a possible market, paving the way towards future developments such as telepresence and remote health monitoring.
