Inspiration

Modern environments constantly overwhelm our senses with noise, bright lights, crowds, and notifications. Many people only realize they are overstimulated after they already feel anxious or exhausted. Research around sensory support tools shows that helping people regulate sensory input can improve focus and reduce stress. SenseBubble was inspired by the idea of turning this invisible sensory stress into something measurable and manageable.

What it does

SenseBubble measures sensory inputs like sound, light, movement, and interruptions to generate a Sensory Load Score. The system visualizes this information in a calm dashboard and suggests actions to reduce overload. It can also adapt the environment through tools like smart glasses and noise-filtering earbuds to help users stay calm and focused.

How we built it

We designed the concept using Figma Slides and Figma AI. We created UI mockups for a mobile dashboard showing the Sensory Load Meter and sensory breakdown. We also designed concept visuals for smart glasses and adaptive earbuds that respond to sensory stress.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was designing an interface that tracks sensory information without overwhelming the user visually. We had to balance useful information with a calm, minimal interface suitable for people sensitive to stimulation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a clean and accessible dashboard that visualizes sensory stress in a simple way. The concept connects sensing, visualization, and environmental adjustment into one cohesive system.

What we learned

We learned how design can help people understand invisible aspects of their experience, such as sensory overload. We also learned the importance of designing interfaces that are calm and accessible for users with sensory sensitivity.

What's next for SenseBubble

Future versions could include real environmental sensors, crowd noise detection, and personalized sensory profiles. The system could also map calm locations nearby and provide smarter recommendations to help users manage their environment.
