Inspiration:-

As students, we know how overwhelming the career journey can be—writing the perfect resume, preparing for interviews, and staying ahead of market demands is a lot to handle without proper guidance. Most of us don’t have access to personal mentors or industry experts, and Googling everything can only get you so far. That’s why we built SENSAI—a smart, AI-powered career coach designed to help students like us navigate every stage of career development with confidence.

What it does?

SENSAI is a one-stop AI web app that supports students through all the critical phases of career growth. Here's what it offers:

  • ✍️ Smart Resume & Cover Letter Builder: Just input your details and get documents tailored to your background and industry trends.
  • 🎯 Interactive Interview Prep: Practice through dynamic quizzes, get real-time scoring, and actionable tips—just like a mock interview session.
  • 📊 Career Analytics Dashboard: Understand job market trends, discover in-demand skills, and get personalized career advice.
  • 🔐 User-Friendly & Secure: Built for ease and privacy, SENSAI works beautifully on all devices and supports smooth login through Google authentication.

Whether you're prepping for your first internship or your dream job after graduation, SENSAI makes the process less stressful and way more effective.

How we built it?

We used modern, student-friendly tools and technologies to build SENSAI:

  • Frontend: React.js and Next.js for a sleek, responsive user interface.
  • Backend: Convex DB for fast, secure user management and data handling.
  • AI Integration: Gemini API for natural-sounding resume, cover letter generation, and interview feedback.
  • Job Data: Integrated live job market data through public APIs.
  • Design: Started with Figma mockups and turned them into a clean, intuitive UI.

Challenges we ran into:-

As students, we had to think like users and developers at the same time. Some challenges we faced:

  • Making resumes feel personal even though they were AI-generated.
  • Designing interview modules that felt realistic and genuinely useful.
  • Ensuring the app looked and felt good across both mobile and desktop—because students use everything.
  • Finding reliable job market data and actually making it meaningful for a student audience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:-

  • We created a full, working AI-powered platform—end to end.
  • Built a clean, accessible UI that doesn't require a tech degree to navigate.
  • Developed interview prep tools that make practice sessions engaging and productive.
  • Most importantly, we made a tool we wish we had earlier in our own college lives.

What we learned?

  • How critical user experience is—small UX changes made a big difference in how helpful the platform felt.
  • How to bring AI into real-world problems—not just cool tech, but actually useful.
  • How to juggle multiple APIs, user flows, and feedback loops without losing focus.
  • And, of course, how to collaborate and build under tight deadlines—something every student can relate to.
