A Breathe of Fresh Air

Inspiration

People are often discouraged in life by their personalities, whether they are influenced by other people's comments or by their own. We need to understand that every one of us is gifted in our own ways, regardless of our surroundings. Accept ourselves and love ourselves.

What it does

This app asks the user to evaluate themselves first, and then convey a positive message that we all deserve to be loved and supported through a story. This story involves interactive responses from the user, ensuring that the user is the one who directs the storyline.

How we built it

This app is built completely from scratch using the partyrock AI. We want to make the story as interactive and relatable as possible. The layout of the app is designed like a comic book with each section carefully labelled so that the user can follow through just like reading a comic book about themself. The main character is designed to encounter obstacles in the story and overcome them in the end. The images help with user follow the flow of the story and chat bots in the story will interact with users and share empathy and encourage them to overcome the user's weaknesses by standing user's point of view.

Challenges we ran into

The AI chatbot kept mentioning the fact that they are AI during the conversation. This will break the user experience. Make sure each section of the comic is linked up using definite and clear language, so a continuous storyline is present to the user. In return, the loading time for the AI will increase. We need to balance AI loading time and story linkage.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The app can produce encouraging and thoughtful short stories based on user inputs. Stories can sometimes be very impressive. The app design looks very like a comic book after all the texts and images are generated with decent speed.

What we learned

Throughout the project, we've gained valuable insights into the importance of user experience in maintaining engagement and fostering a sense of connection with the app. We've also learned about the technical aspects such as AI's understanding and interpretation of our human language and balancing AI implementation with the creative storytelling elements to ensure a seamless and enjoyable user experience.

What's next for A Breathe of Fresh Air

In the future, we aim to further improve the AI chatbot's capabilities to provide even more personalized and dynamic storytelling experiences. This includes refining its ability to adapt the narrative based on user feedback and interactions, as well as natural language understanding for a more immersive user experience. Our ultimate goal is to continue empowering users to embrace self-acceptance and love through the power of storytelling and positive reinforcement.
