What was done before the project
Mockup of my idea(Figma)(this was because I messed up the timings of the hackathon so I started 2 hours earlier) HTML page and scanner applications were all done during the hackathon

What it does

With our prompt notifications, they would never forget to take their medicine
We have observed seniors painstakingly log their blood pressure and sugar levels on a tiny booklet daily. But now they can key in here instead. The added advantage is that doctors can see the history and analyse the data faster during consultations
It’s also not uncommon for seniors to forget what the name of their medication is and what the medication is for. With our computer vision, seniors just have to take a picture and they would know what that medicine is in a matter of seconds.
This computer vision server is fully functional and is deployed and uses aws S3 to store the image. Afterwards, it uses Aws rekognition to detect the text in the image. Last but not least, it makes use of aws Comprehend Medical for natural language processing to ensure accurate processing of medical terms.
(Features) With the medical planner, seniors and caregivers can add their scheduled appointments on the calendar and receive notifications .. Seniors would never miss their appointment anymore with the appointment notification feature.
With our app, the caregiver’s and senior’s accounts can be synced, which helps the caregiver to be well aware of the senior’s medical history.
In the event when the senior forgets to take his/her medication, the caregiver will be able to remind the senior to take his/her medicine by prompting a notification to the senior’s phone as a reminder.
What's next for SeniorCare
Integrations Here are some integrations that can be made. Firstly, the app can utilize existing infrastructure from government service apps such as HealthHub to allow a caregiver to have access to the senior’s health records if needed. Integration with the government cloud also ensures security. We can also leverage the data.
We can integrate with Lumi health to encourage the elderly to install the app as there are incentives to it such as cash rewards.
Secondly, The app can be integrated with wearables such as fitness trackers and GPS trackers.
Fitness trackers allow the senior to track information such as heart rate, step count, location, and sleep schedule. The data will then be synced with the app to allow the caregivers to have easy access to the data. In the event where the senior leaves the house, an abnormal heart rate or sleep schedule is detected, the app can also inform the senior and the caregiver for relevant follow-up.
We can also integrate with my responder app. When a heart attack is detected, it can send an alert through my responder app. With this addition, it can help to save lives quickly.
Future improvements
One future improvement would be developing an IOT system for households. Sensors can be implemented to detect movements of seniors. This allows for more precise monitoring on the exact location of seniors, and identifies anomalies.
