Inspiration
The inspiration came from my group member throwing an idea out and me trying to show him how it would/wouldn't work. After building a basic framework, I realized I actually might be able to do his suggestion.
What it does
This program attempts to help the elderly reduce their COVID-19 exposure by consolidating everything they would use on a daily basis in one place. We wanted to have something that would give them a resource to do what they need to do online, instead of having to go out and make a trip.
How I built it
I built this in Sublime Text while compiling from Terminal.
Challenges I ran into
I didn't know how to open links in chrome and I had to figure out which way worked without having to download any software.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of how I used Google Map Links to create a search function for restaurants in the nearby area.
What I learned
I learned how to work with URLs in general and also how to open them using java.
What's next for Senior Hub
I wasn't able to complete our entire idea so I'd like to finish our initial idea for the program. Afterward, I'd like to implement a memory system for customization based on the user.
