Inspiration:
We were inspired by the 2013 iPhone app Send Me to Heaven, which was taken off the app store shortly after being published.
What it does:
Like the 2013 app, our project uses the sensors in your phone to track how high you throw your phone, and then adds it to a leaderboard so you can test to see how high you can throw your phone
How we built it:
// Utilizing old open source javascript code, we were able to make our foundation that could utilize basic and raw data using the phones accelerometer, and ultimately making something that could detect airtime, and peak height.
Challenges we ran into:
//Gravity and other small sources of what could glitch out or stop the program early, we set up margins to keep the program from freezing. To account for gravity and detect when the phone was in the air, we used the constant force of gravity as the base for measuring time in the air, being \(9.81m/s^2\), it would detect when it goes below that constant force, until another force was applied (like you catching it), this applying for distance too
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
//completing the project
What we learned:
//how accelerometers work
