Inspiration

I saw the use of drones as one of the ways people can keep social distancing while at the same time helping friends, families, institutions, and neighborhoods in need. While there are no platforms currently available for such service, I decided to create one! :)

What it does

It's as easy as following 3 steps: Step 1: Find people, neighborhoods, and institutions that you would like to help fighting COVID-19 in our map. Step 2: Send lightweight sanitizing and facial protection kits to those in need using one of our smart drones. Step 3: Sit back and relax. You have made someone happy and safer today :)

How I built it

I am a one-man team, and I built the platform using: Back-end: Node.js and MongoDB Front-end: HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Bootstrap _ (Secret spice: A LOT of patience...) _

Challenges I ran into

Front-end is not really my forte. So, remembering everything I had already learned and learning new stuff at the same time was very challenging. However, I knew from the beginning that my original idea was feasible. I managed to do it, and I am very proud of it!

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Honestly, I am proud of the whole project. It is heart-warming to see everything working smoothly and thoroughly.

What I learned

Crazy ideas may come true. Trust in yourself AND what !important means in CSS...

What's next for Send Me An Angel

Deliver 1,000,000 of lightweight sanitizing and protection kits around the globe. ;)
