Inspiration
BeReal and Daylio! We were inspired by BeReal's quick action interface and experience. Daylio was inspiration within the app UI regarding wellness and check-ins.
What it does
Semblance is an app that helps an individual understand and log their sense of Déjà Vu. By providing an interactive diary, users can tap into their subconscious, increase their cognitive awareness, and reduce anxiety drawn from unexplained familiarity. Building it to help ease this uneasy unfamiliar feeling that can make people feel different feelings within the dimensions of wellness. We created features such as Insights & Analytics, Mind Mapping, and a Déjà Vu logging feature of events that the user could feel.
How we built it
Semblance was built completely in the Figma Suite. This includes: Figma Design, Figma Make, and Figma Slides.
Challenges we ran into
With Figma Make being a new product, learning its ins and outs was a hurdle we leapt across. It came with a multitude of advantages when creating our product. Even then, adapting to its strengths was still a process. Since we are new with Figma Make, it was a hassle trying to get what we want. Even though it was tedious and created a lot of bumps, we had a lot of fun of manually designing frames and going into Make as a continuous iteration phase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Understanding Figma Make was something that we were really proud of. Especially given the time crunch of our first Hackathon/Design-a-thon, it highlighted the flow a tool like this can provide. It was a fun time!
What we learned
We learned a lot about what goes into making something from scratch in today's application designing environment. In addition, we learned a lot about Déjà Vu. With all the iterations we did, we'll never forget the feeling.
What's next for Semblance
A project like this can absolutely be worked more on. Our prototype focuses on the design, so persisting data and information while balancing the functionalities is an obvious reentry into Semblance.
