💡💡💡 Inspiration 💡💡💡

Ever wanted to get your medicine delivered directly to your home? Without getting charged extreme mark-up prices by the big commerical pharmacies - who may or may not have the medicine at all? Well, wait no more! SelfPharma is the solution to all your medicinal problems, including prescribed medicine!

🧠🧠🧠 How it works 🧠🧠🧠

  • The app connects patients and pharmacies for easy delivery of medicine.
  • Patients can upload prescriptions to create orders, and auto-load their schedules and dosage details, and receive reminders to take their medicine.
  • Pharmacies can view and accept new orders, then deliver medicines directly to users.

This helps patients skip queues while smaller pharmacies reach more customers without extra effort.

😢😢 Challenges we ran into 😢😢

Making CORS work properly since we use a three tier architecture - including setting up the routes and API calls. Manually rendering the medicine objects using three.js since our laptops couldn't run blender and we had to use 3d geometry. We also had to go through our database to check and test all the information, ensuring it was being stored correctly and with proper encryption.

👏👏👏 Accomplishments that we're proud of 👏👏👏

The app achieves our original goal of making medicine inclusive to everyone, regardless of which side of the transaction they are a part of. We have learned to use new tech and tools to build a product that will serve the mass public. It also promotes a greener environment - with users making less trips and saving more time.

👀👀 What's next 👀👀

One of the best ways to improve SelfPharma is to incorporate doctors into the ecosystem, making the process of obtaining prescriptions easier. Another option would to make it more mobile friendly and enable emergency contacts. Providing more analytics for both patients and pharmacists would also be a very good upgrade.

We were playing around with date and time to showcase a reactive schedule-dependent feature of our code for the demo. Due to this, one of the commits is dated October 3, 8:23pm before the hackathon started.
