Skip the Wait: Get Quality Care Without the Queue!
Inspiration
The idea for our project came from the frustration of countless hours spent in long queues at public clinics, only to be told that the doctor is unavailable. We wanted to create a solution that addresses the inefficiencies in the healthcare system and provides patients with timely and quality care.
What We Learned
Throughout the development of this project, we learned about the complexities of the healthcare system and the various factors that contribute to long wait times and this mostly effects the elders. We also discovered the importance of user-friendly interfaces and reliable technology in providing effective solutions. Our research highlighted the critical need for a streamlined process that connects patients with doctors more efficiently.
How We Built Our Project
We started by identifying the key pain points in the current system and brainstorming potential solutions. After thorough research and planning, we developed a mobile application that allows patients to book appointments with doctors at their convenience. We utilized technologies such as React Native for the app development and Firebase for real-time data management. Our team conducted several rounds of testing to ensure the app's functionality and reliability. We will be using API's, Java, JavaScript and Python.
Challenges We Faced
Building this project was not without its challenges. Most of the time we had to find a way to work around all our busy schedules and balancing our side projects, school work and implementing new languages and framework. Integrating real-time data management to handle appointment bookings and cancellations required meticulous planning and execution. Ensuring the app's security and privacy to protect patient information was another critical aspect that demanded rigorous testing and validation. Additionally, coordinating with healthcare providers to incorporate their schedules into our system posed logistical challenges that we had to navigate.
Accomplishes we proud of
That along the way we found a real life solution to this problem, we as a team are able to approach this problem with full confidence our system takes the strain off medical staff, reduced the wait time period and its user friendly.
Whats next for our presentation
Is to expand our services by implementing cloud services and we plan to continuously improve the user interface and user experience based on feedback from our users. This includes adding features like appointment reminders, patient history tracking, and more.
