self scope is a neat WebGL-based hack that recreates the iOS view hierarchy for debugging purposes in the browser. While comparable tools cost around $200 per person (even for a personal license!), self.scope is intended to be an open source project that provides all of the functionality that commercial vendors provide, but also with the benefit of being modular. Because of the way it was engineered, it would not be very hard to reuse the self.scope code base to build a similar inspector for Android or Windows phone. Because it runs in the browser, it could also be a great way to share your phone's screen with someone in the workplace without having to make them download an app.
