✨ Inspiration

Fashion is deeply personal, yet many people struggle to find clothes that suit their skin tone, body type, occasion, and budget. Existing solutions either focus on generic trends or expensive personalized styling. We wanted to create something inclusive, intelligent, and empowering for everyone—especially for underrepresented skin tones like umber/light brown. That's how PicMyFit was born: an AI stylist that helps you dress your best with confidence.

PicMyFit analyzes user inputs—like a photo, skin tone, body shape, occasion, and budget—to generate:

• Personalized outfit recommendations
• Style suggestions (e.g., Old Money, Casual, Ethnic)
• Color palettes that complement your skin tone
• Shopping guidance within your budget
• Outfit previews using AI-generated visuals

🚧 How we built it

1. Frontend: Simple UI for user input (photo upload, budget, occasion)
2. AI Models:

• Skin tone and body detection (via computer vision)
• Outfit classification and style mapping

• Budget-aware product filtering

• Created a database of clothing items and aesthetics

• Combined color theory + fit rules to suggest outfits

• Used image generation tools to create mockups

• Python/Flask server for data processing

• REST API for frontend-backend interaction

• Handling photos with inconsistent lighting or quality
• Matching cultural styles (e.g., kurta vs suit) dynamically
• Ensuring realistic color contrast in AI-generated visuals
• Integrating product filtering based on real-time pricing and availability
• Building recommendations that are both stylish and wearable
