The target user of Seizure.io are individuals that are prone to having seizures. The application allows the user to enter emergency contacts by name and phone number. These are people that need to be notified if the user begins to seize and medical attention is required. The application calculates the voltage fluctuations from EEG measurements which is electrical activity within the brain. Once a specified threshold is passed, a seizure is detected and each emergency contact will be automatically notified via text message.
The design of Seizure.io for identifying seizure activity involves three main states. The states include reading-normal, reading-cautious, and reading-seizure. By using an algorithm, the application transitions between states based on EEG data to ensure that seizure are not falsely triggered.
Our goal is to minimize the risk that seizure patients encounter. The application will reduce the wait time between the individual seizing and receiving medical care. Additionally, the Seizure.io application will allow tracking of seizure episodes.
