Inspiration
Following the 2021 coup in Myanmar, the education system collapsed, leaving millions of children in IDP camps without formal schooling. I founded Seik Kuu (meaning "Idea") because education cannot wait for stability. Having been displaced myself, I wanted to prove that talent is universal, even when geography is not.
What it does
Seik Kuu is a humanitarian-tech platform that provides STEM and robotics education to displaced youth. It features:
- "Ready" AI Mentor: Uses Gemini 3 Flash to provide 24/7 guidance, even suggesting projects using recycled materials like cardboard and plastic bottles.
- Credential Hub: Issues blockchain-verified Soulbound Tokens (SBTs) so students have permanent, immutable academic records that borders cannot take away.
- Privacy-First: Uses Zero-Knowledge concepts to verify skills without exposing a student's sensitive location.
How we built it
We developed the platform using a modern tech stack focused on accessibility and security:
- Frontend: React and Tailwind CSS for a responsive, high-performance UI.
- AI Integration: Google Gemini 3 Flash for context-aware, low-latency mentorship.
- Web3/Blockchain: Soulbound Tokens (SBTs) for secure, non-transferable identity and credentials.
Challenges we ran into
Building for low-resource environments meant we couldn't rely on expensive kits or high-speed internet. We had to pivot our curriculum to be "context-aware," focusing on innovation with everyday waste materials. Additionally, ensuring student privacy in conflict zones required a strict "Privacy-First" architecture using ZK concepts.
What we learned
We learned that technology can be a powerful tool for digital sovereignty. Even in a "failed state," digital-first learning can protect a generation's future from physical destruction.
What's next for Seik Kuu
Our goal is to host pilot workshops in liberated areas and scale our AI mentorship to support more languages, eventually helping our students compete on international robotics stages.
