Be honest when most of us in Pakistan feel sick we google our symptoms ask a cousin or just wait and hope it goes away. Nobody really knows if it's serious or which kind of doctor to see. So people either ignore something that actually needs attention or rush to the ER for something small.

Apps like Marham and Oladoc are great for finding a doctor and booking but that's where they stop. I wanted to build something that helps you from the very first "something feels wrong" moment all the way to seeing the right doctor.

What it does

SehatAI is simple to use. You tell it your symptoms, it gives you an idea of how serious things are, shows you the right kind of doctor, and lets you book a visit.

Here's what's inside:

-Symptom Checker: type your symptoms or just tap a few tags and get an instant severity check

  • Verified Doctors: browse specialists by category and see when they're available
  • Booking: pick a doctor, pick a time confirm. Three steps done -Medicine Checker: look up what a medicine is for, its side effects, and safer alternatives
  • Health History:your past symptom checks are saved automatically so you can show them to your doctor -Emergency Locator:finds major hospitals near you in Karachi when time matters

I mainly had everyday people in mind: busy professionals, parents wondering if a child's fever can wait until morning people who just moved to a new city and anyone who needs the nearest hospital right now.

One important thing: SehatAI only gives guidance. Every symptom-check screen says clearly that it's not a replacement for a real doctor.

How we built it

SehatAI is a responsive single-page web app, and it's live on Netlify so anyone can try it right now. All six features sit under one simple menu. Behind the symptom checker and medicine lookup there's AI that reads what you write, and the rest of the app (doctor search, filters, booking with a step tracker, history, and the hospital finder) is built around that.

Challenges we ran into

  • Making the symptom checker helpful without sounding like it's replacing a doctor
  • Fitting six features into one clean layout without making it confusing
  • Keeping booking short enough that people actually finish it

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • The whole patient journey works in one live app, not just a design on paper
  • All six features are built and connected
  • Safety is part of the app itself, with a disclaimer on every symptom-check screen

What we learned

When you build something about health, trust matters more than fancy features. Clear warnings, simple steps, and being honest about what the app can't do are just as important as the AI.

What's next for SehatAI

  • Better AI behind the scenes, so the guidance gets smarter and more reliable
  • More cities, since right now the doctors and hospitals are focused on Karachi
  • Full Urdu support, because an app for Pakistan should speak the language people actually use

From confusion to care, in just a few taps.on
