Seeker

Inspiration

Saw a visually impaired student walking the campus and having trouble navigating the sidewalks.

What it does

Tells the user whether they are close to an object on the left or right at a distance.

How we built it

Used an MSP430 to generate a PWM signal to control the ultrasonic sensors.

Challenges we ran into

Generating the PWM signal and getting the sound to correspond to the distance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Proud of modulating the audio frequency to the distance of the objects.

What we learned

Learned how to work with ultrasonic sensors and audio.

What's next for Seeker

Making it so the sound only triggers when an object is within a given range. Also adding directional sound to the headphones audio.
