This project was incredibly inspirational and it involved the use of location and native API from the user's device to make a traditional game into a digital game. Wherever the user's phone goes, the server will update and create an online game that works for everyone. Easily make a party and try to run or hide from the seeker. We were inspired to make this project because of how we haven't seen much of AR or location based apps but they have always been possible. Orientation helps you determine if you're facing your camera, it helps you move in a straight line, its endless possibilities that inspired us to make something using this technology with the limited time we had. In the future we wanted to think even bigger with introduction to full on AR worlds where you theme your surroundings to make the perfect hiding spot. But to get to that step we had to overcome a few many obstacles and uncompleted tasks like introducing a LLM or vector or even the easier ones like Cloudflare! Instead, we made it with a purpose of creating something that we would work on in the future for the better of society and the fun of gamers. We're most proud of successfully integrating a backend and frontend codebase together as we did not have any planning for how we would type things or specifically what data would be transferred but in the end it worked out... a little messy. In the future we will definitely try to organize our code and parameters into a single list so we can reference it instead of Control + F. While it had been a while since I used javascript, I am once again shown how versatile and powerful it is and doing this gamejam has given me a newfound motivation to learn even more and create even better things.
