We like games and we like gays. Doing a short game about gays seemed like fun and a great way to increase representation.
What it does
It's a text-based adventure game! You have fun.
How we built it
We used Inform 7, which is a programming language specifically designed to build interactive fiction.
Challenges we ran into
Inform is a lot pickier than we expected, and neither of us are really used to the NLP style of coding that it requires. We spent a lot of time reading documentation and pair programming, but by the end we got the hang of it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finished the basic outline of the game and incorporated all the main points that we wanted to.
What we learned
A new language, new platform, gay dialogue is really difficult to come up with.
What's next for Seeds Cafe
We'd like to flesh the game out a little more, provide more exploration options, and increase accessibility in both a published UI (not local) and more help commands.
