Plant a seed and watch it germinate into fruits of favors and happiness in return. As one of the five core principles of living a fulfilling life, Elizabeth Dunn of University of British Columbia and Michael Norton of Harvard Business school proposed investment in others as a bigger happiness booster than spending on one’s self. Seed is a platform intended to encourage capable subscribers to lend a helping hand to other subscribers who may require specific assistance. The uniqueness of Seed is in its guiding principle, easily summed up to the age old adage, “one good turn deserves another”. Every useful favor a member grants is banked as favor points for the user. When the user has accumulated enough favor points, these points will be converted into favor(s) that they can receive from other members of the Seed community. All favors, once logged into the server, will be accessible by all members of the Seed community. Nevertheless, users can easily sort their requests of interest using keywords which would have been provided by the requester prior to publishing the favor request on the server. Furthermore, users can form communities and sub-groups with specific interests and locations to increase the potency of request resolutions that interest such groups.
