Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project is that we knew a lot of small businesses lack the connections to acquire funding for their business, although it may be a great idea. For example, I live in Fort Lauderdale and one of my favorite restaurants is located in the side of a very old motel, and are on the brink of going out of business due to the fact that they have no funding. Although this restaurant provides great food and service, it is hard for them to compete against those with lots of capital. The same applies to hundreds of businesses around the world.
What it does
This website allows for business owners to post their business and for potential investors to view businesses who need funding, and contact them to come to a deal about an investment in their company.
How we built it
We built this using React and with firebase to store and load the profiles of the companies that the users input into the website.
Challenges we ran into
It was very hard to load the data in from the database and render it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It was our first time making a full stack application.
What we learned
We learned how to use Firebase, as all three of us have never used it before.
What's next for Seed
We need to create a login system and add an investor page. Now that we have initial proof of concept, we need to reach out to both small businesses and investors to see if they would be interested in using our platform.
