See You Next Tuesday

Inspiration

As committee members of Women's in Information and Computer Science at UC Irvine, we were inspired by our weekly meetings. Given that they were on Mondays, we decided to call our project See You Next Tuesday. Because our meetings were always on Mondays, our tasks always started on Tuesdays which is why we decided to build a website that would incentivize ourselves to complete our tasks in a timely manner. Although mainly used for our club, we wanted to include a broader audience and incorporated several other elements into the final project.

What it does

As a work management website designed to help organize, track, and manage tasks. Our website gives points with task completion which can be used to unlock photo cards as a way to incentivize productivity. Stay organized, motivated, and rewarded on your productivity journey with us!

How we built it

We drew inspiration from a member's past project experience with figma and prototyping and decided that was the direction we wanted to take our website with. We first decided to incorporate other task management websites we've tried to improve upon in order to be "true to us". By using Figma and prototyping strategies, we were able to produce a website that our team would want to use.

Challenges we ran into

The first main challenge was prototyping. Everyone in the team was new or not heavily experienced with prototyping so by attending workshops and asking mentors, we were able to quickly grasp the techniques and produce a streamlined website design.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really happy about the design about the website's aesthetics. We were able to elevate a task management website to something that would cater to us.

What we learned

We learned more about figma and all of its components. Prototyping was something we were scared to jump into, but after trial and error, we were able to use our newly founded skills to produce a prototype.
