Inspiration

I wanted a way to stop scam and disinformation on the Web, as well as to tell users about alternatives and alternative opinions.

What it does

This is a browser sidebar that displays user-edited information about currently viewed page.

How we built it

Browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox.

The page comments are retrieved from Everipedia, where we create special pages based on the URL of any page of the Web.

Challenges we ran into

• Make it work on both Chrome and Firefox.
• How to edit information on Everipedia. For now, I ended up with just giving the user verbal instructions on how to edit.
• Parsing JSON from internal Everipedia API.
