Inspiration

Online scams, suspicious calls, fraudulent messages and unsafe links can affect anyone. Many people struggle to determine whether something is trustworthy or understand what to do when they encounter a potential threat.

I wanted to build a personal cybersecurity companion that makes digital safety easier to understand and more accessible.

What it does

SECYRA AI is designed to help users examine potential digital threats, including suspicious phone numbers, calls, messages and links. It aims to explain why something may be risky and recommend safer next steps in clear language.

The core principle is Observe → Analyze → Explain → Recommend → User Decides. SECYRA AI is intended to inform users and support their decisions rather than secretly take control of their devices.

How I built it

I am developing SECYRA AI with an Android-first approach using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with an architecture designed to separate the user interface, security logic and backend services. The project is intended to use AI for security guidance and risk explanations, alongside evidence-based checks and user-controlled protection features.

Challenges and learning

One of the main challenges is designing security features that are useful without presenting uncertain AI results as facts. Caller identification and spam detection require reliable evidence, appropriate Android permissions and careful handling of personal data.

This project is teaching me how to combine mobile development, AI integration, cybersecurity principles and privacy-conscious product design.

What's next

I am continuing to develop and validate the app, focusing on real functionality, dependable security checks, transparent explanations and privacy controls. Planned features will be described as complete only after they have been implemented and tested.
